What is a Trial Period?

A trial period allows you to use the Emery product free of charge for 3 days. During this time, you will have access to the first 3 classes of the platform. Once the trial period ends, you must select one of the plans to continue learning English with Emery.

What materials will I receive during the Trial Period?

During the Trial Period, you will be granted free access to our course, various exercise types on the platform, and the first 3 classes. This complimentary access will be valid for 3 days. The free trial will end after completing the Trial Period.

How does the Subscription model work after the Trial Period?

A subscription allows You to set up an automatic recurring payment to replenish your account every 30 days. After You choose a Plan, You will pay for the first 30 days. The subscriptions will automatically renew every 30 days until You cancel. When the subscription renews, we will debit your saved card automatically for the chosen Plan for the next 30 days, meaning that You do not need to re-enter your information.

How much does a Subscription plan cost?

There are two available subscription plans to choose from, Silver and Gold.

Silver costs €4.90/month, and Gold costs €14.90/month.

When does my Subscription start?

Each subscription period will start from the date that payment is confirmed as received.

How do I pay for the chosen package?

Firstly, choose a package that meets your needs and your budget. There are several options to pay for an EMERY subscription.

Credit and Debit cards

We accept Visa, Mastercard or Maestro cards, which must be enabled for recurring e-commerce transactions. NOTE: You may need to enable your card for international transactions.

Virtual Cards

We accept virtual cards in select markets. If your virtual card is declined, please choose a different payment method.

Which payment system is EMERY using?

EMERY uses Revolut Merchant services to accept online payments from Users.

Can I unlink or change my payment method?

Yes, You can. To unlink the payment method, select payment information from your personal account page and unlink/ change/ delete the payment method You want to remove. When a payment method is unlinked/removed from your account, EMERY will no longer be able to charge that payment method unless it is readded to your EMERY account. Kindly note that if the payment method is not linked back/ re-added by the time the new subscription payment should be made, your access to the Platform will be blocked.

What are the possible payment issues I can face?

It could be that we are unable to process your payment for various reasons.

In such cases, please kindly try the following:

–        Check if You are using Visa, Mastercard or Maestro.

NOTE: we do not support American Express, Union Pay, PayPal, Cirrus Clabe and Discovery Cards. Also, due to international restrictions in place, it’s not possible to top up your Revolut account with a bank card issued in Russia or Belarus

–        Check if the card details have been entered correctly (Name, Card number, Expiry date, and CVV number)

–        Clarify with your bank if there are any limitations for online purchases/ international payments

–        Check if funds in the account from which the automatic debit occurs at the time of payment are sufficient.

Why is my access to the platform blocked?

In the case of payment issues with the account from which the automatic debit occurs at the time of payment, your access to the platform will be blocked. Access will only be restored after payment for the selected plan has been received and confirmed.

Will I lose my progress if payment is not made on time?

Your learning progress will not be lost if the subscription payment is not made on time.

How can I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?

Upgrading

If You are a User of the Silver plan, you can upgrade your plan to the Gold plan at any time by paying the full cost of the Gold plan through your personal account, or at the end of the subscription period by unlinking your payment method from your personal account, re-linking it and paying the cost of the Gold plan. Access to the full functionality of the new plan will be granted from the moment payment is confirmed. The new subscription period will start from the date of payment and last for one month. Any unused Silver plan time is non-refundable.

Downgrading

If You are a user of the Gold plan, you can downgrade your current plan to the Silver plan at any time by unlinking the payment method from your personal account, re-linking it, and paying for the Silver plan. Access to all Silver plan features is granted from the moment payment is confirmed. The new subscription period will start from the date of payment and last for one month. Any unused Gold plan time is non-refundable.

Can I cancel my subscription?

Yes, You can cancel your subscription at any time by unlinking your payment method from your personal account.

How will I have my money returned for my paid subscription?

Kindly note that You are only eligible for a refund in the event that the Services to be provided were not available for the entirety of your subscription period, and only if this is due to a technical error on our behalf.

If You are eligible for a refund, You are required to send your refund request to support@emery.world. The refund decision shall be made within 30 days. EMERY may provide a refund provided the payment was made less than 30 days ago.

The amount to be refunded is calculated without taking into account any special terms, at the maximum Plan for the Services actually provided. The right to receive free Services will be canceled. All fees and charges shall be paid by you.

Is my educational plan personalized?

Yes, your educational plan is customized to meet your interests and knowledge based on the answers you provide during the Welcome test.

Emery provides high-quality educational content, which is created for You to master English, according to the recommendations and methodology we developed. So, all the materials you come across have been crafted to create an emotional background for the educational content to successfully memorize and learn the content.

How do my online English lessons with Emery work?

We offer You a blended learning experience where You can work independently on the platform 24/7. Enhance your pronunciation with phonetic exercises in karaoke mode, and learn new words through 100,000 video explanations by non-native and native speakers from America, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Master grammatical concepts with exclusive videos and exercises, and practice language comprehension with engaging texts and stories. Improve your speaking skills through Video Call Activities with our language facilitators and record videos in the interactive task “Talk to Emery” to receive constructive feedback.

What English language level do I need to study on the Emery platform?

We understand that everyone is unique. In today’s world, it’s nearly impossible to be completely unfamiliar with any English words, especially considering the rich presence of loanwords and similar words in our language.

To make the content more accessible for beginners who haven’t yet learned English, we have provided video explanations of words by non-native speakers with similar mentalities and associations.

How long will it take me to learn English on the platform?

Depending on the pace and the intensity of studying you choose, the learning process can last from 6 to 12 months. However, we will regularly update our platform with fresh content to ensure a continuous learning experience for You.

Which devices can I use to learn on the platform?

You can use all devices and gadgets on both web and mobile interface extensions.

What computer equipment will I need for the lessons?

You will need an electronic device with a web browser and internet access (with a recommended speed of at least 1 Mbps) that is compatible with our platform.

On which browsers does the platform work best?

For the smooth functioning of the platform, we recommend the following browsers:

  •  Use the latest version of Google Chrome 
  •  Use the latest version of Safari

Which mobile operating system should I use for the mobile version of the platform?

To ensure the smooth operation of the platform on a mobile device, we suggest using the following operating systems. These recommendations are in addition to the above-mentioned preferred browser guidelines:

  • Android: Either the latest version or versions starting from Android 9.0+ (Pie)
  • iOS: Either the latest version or versions starting from iOS 14+

 

Please, note that using an older version of a mobile operating system could result in slower speeds and technical problems. 

Why does learning on the platform take place in English without the use of my native language?

At Emery, we believe that complete immersion in an English-speaking environment is the most effective way to learn a language. By experiencing and acquiring knowledge directly in the target language, it becomes better ingrained and easier to remember. This approach closely resembles the process of gradually learning to navigate real-life situations in a foreign country, such as shopping or asking for directions. The knowledge gained through immersion stays with You for the long term because You have personally acquired it.

Our platform has been designed to recreate these immersive experiences, providing You with opportunities to acquire knowledge. Additionally, our materials feature native speakers with different accents, helping You prepare for real-world scenarios and understand individuals from various parts of the world.

Using your native language during the learning process creates a comfort zone that can hinder your ability to communicate freely in the new language. Relying on your native language can tempt you to seek translations or explanations, reducing your motivation to speak the target language and overcome the language barrier. How often do I need to study?
